Purpose
To use the performance measures identified at steps 3.3 and 4.4 to ensure that the changes are having an impact as predicted in the process and on the results as seen by the customer.
DESIRED OUTCOME
-
Once this step is completed, you will have collected data that shows any trends coming from the impact of the change. Information collected ‘in the process’ about local initiatives that break away from the plan will have been understood and their impact integrated into the plan.
How to do it
Collect the data for the in process and results performance measures identified at steps 3.3 and 4.4 to ensure that the implementation is proceeding as planned.
Often work areas are heavily loaded during implementation and may not be able to implement all steps. Monitoring the data will allow you to determine when people need help to implement the changes.
Sometimes workgroups will see opportunities during implementation that will give rise to trends that far exceed original expectations. By following up, and identifying changes to our plan, we can be sure of standardising the correct procedures during step 7.
